Call for abstracts for the European Geothermal Congress 2022 (EGC2022)
The European Geothermal Congress 2022 (EGC2022) has just launched the call for abstracts, which will help shaping the programme of the Congress. The submission of the abstracts for papers will concern all areas of geothermal energy use, from very shallow systems to deep drilling and high-enthalpy fields. Both the technological and the social-economic side will be covered.
The programme will be divided into four basic threads or “streams”, using the practises and standards appropriate to each respective target group.
The four streams are:
- Geothermal solutions for the future renewable energy systems
- Politics and Market
- Technology and Innovation – good practices
- Research and Development
Ernst Huenges, Chair of the Scientific Committee of EGC2022, said “For the 2022 edition of the European Geothermal Congress, we will address the challenges of climate change and create the topic “Geothermal solutions for the future renewable energy systems”. We want to reflect the growth of the geothermal industry and its fundamental role in complementing other renewable technologies to decarbonize our economy. Over four hundred abstracts were submitted for the previous conference, and we look forward to an even larger number of high-quality submissions in 2022.”
